Let me start by saying sometimes I get real busy and forget to get the news to the paper on time. So if the church news is not in the paper it’s because I got busy and missed the deadline. So my fault; that’s on me.
We had a wonderful last two weeks. Last week we had two great services Sunday morning and night. We had a great selection from the old church hymnals, which in turn ushered in his presence.
We are about finally settled in. Things are starting to get back to normal at the parsonage. We started out looking like the Beverly Hillbillies. Now it’s getting better — about like “Cheaper by the Dozen.”
All jokes aside we are excited about what the Lord has been doing and about being so much closer. We can walk to church now.
What a amazing move of the Lord’s presence during worship this Sunday morning. Along with the beautiful special that was just perfect by Brother Mason, Brother James taught on the subject “Jesus is in Control.” He is in charge.
My friends and brethren, Jesus is coming soon. We must have our lamps trimmed. We must be ready to meet the Lord at any minute, for he comes as a thief in the night, in a twinkling of an eye. And remember church, it is impossible to please God without faith. Walk by faith, not by sight, in his perfect will.
God bless you all. Have a great week. We invite all to come out and worship with us. The Lord is up to something and he is still doing great things.
God bless and see you next week. Continue to keep the Avent family in your prayers and the Whitakers in your prayers as well. As always, until next week.
With much love ... Pastor Michael.
