Well it’s been a busy week. Glad it was finally Sunday, a time to worship the Lord our God with friends and members. It was a beautiful Sunday morning!
We had a wonderful Sunday school lesson on standing firm in Christ by Brother Mason. Then we had choir with congregational hymnals; such a beautiful start to a time of worship. Brother Brown sang a wonderful special. All this great singing and music playing began to usher in the awesome presence of God. We were so blessed.
Then of course to the word of God in which the word says we must pray and have Faith, allowing prayer and the word of God to strengthen our faith, because faith is now.
Hebrews 11:1 says, “Now faith is the substance of things hoped for and the evidence of things not seen. For God answers the prayers of a righteous man. Those prayers availeth much.”
1 John 5:14-15 says, “This is the confidence that we have in him, that if we ask anything according to his will he heareth us:
“And if we know that he hears us whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him.”
There is power in the tongue. In Matthew 7, the Bible says, “Ask, and we shall receive,” along with many other scriptures that declare the same. So believe when you pray, and pray specifically.
John 15:7: “If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what you will, and it shall be done unto you.” For God answered Isaac’s prayer and his wife conceived. Elijah prayed and there was a famine for three years. He prayed again seven times and saw a cloud the size of a man’s hand, and knew God answers prayer and was sending rain.
There are many other examples of prayer like in Acts 12:1-19, where the church prayed for Peter continuously and the Lord sent an angel to set Peter free. Never stop praying. Never lose faith. God is working our behalf, and wants to bless you.
May I remind you the scripture says, “If we, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto our children, how much more does our Father in heaven want to give good gifts to those that ask?”
Therefore my brethren, pray and ask God to do a thing and he will do it. Only ask, pray and believe. And like I preached last Sunday, if we don’t quit we will win.
P.S. Please continue to keep T.J. Avent and family in your prayers; T.J has not been doing well this week. Continue praying for Clemmie Whitaker and family and Eve Mae, who has been under the weather off and on the last several weeks.
God bless and until next time, may you all have a great week.
