Fame Church of God
Hello everyone. I trust you all had a blessed week.
As most of you already know, we lost a good man this week, a faithful longtime member of Fame church family. He has gone on to meet Jesus.
Mr. James Albert Whitaker will be greatly missed. With that being said, we had a wonderful celebration of life memorial service in memory of Mr. James Albert. Everything turned out beautiful.
It was such a blessing to see all his friends and family who attended the service. I’d like to extend a warm thank you to all those who came out, called and helped to make this time easier for the Whitaker families and all who knew and loved Bro. James Albert.
Sunday morning Sunday school was great, taught by Bro. James Mason. Then, we had a wonderful time of worship, which led us into the message titled “Don’t Quit.” If you don’t quit you will win this race.
The word of God tells us not if, but when the enemy comes, we will suffer trials, tribulations and persecutions, reproach and infirmities. Paul urges us to rely on the grace and glory of God. That we are to rejoice in our troubles and trials. Remembering from 2 Corinthians that Paul had a thorn in his flesh that evidently was quite troubling for him.
He approached the Lord three times asking God to remove that thorn and the Lord’s response to Paul (and to us all) was, “My grace is sufficient for thee.” To sum this message in a few words, my friends, it’s not by accident that we go through such things, but remember that our Lord goes with us each and every day.
He will never forsake you. Do not be afraid. The enemy will cause our problems to look much worse than they truly are, but in the light of eternity and the gift of heaven, nothing is too hard that his grace cannot get us through to the other side for that heavenly reward.
It was such a blessing to have Ms. Eva Mae back in service with us this week. We are happy she is feeling better and was able to make it back to service with us. If you do not have a home church or if you want to come out and visit with us, everyone is welcome. We would love to have you join us in worship.
Please continue to uplift the Whitaker family, the Davis family and the Avent family in your prayers. Until next week, God bless.
