Hello, it’s me again. First I want to apologize. I forgot with everything going on lately to write last week.
Had a wonderful sermon on the ambidextrous God. How you can see the Lord’s right had moving and working, but not always notice his left hand working everything out for our good.
Let‘s look into the life of Joseph, the son of Jacob (Israel). Joseph, loved by his father, was given a coat of many colors and was smothered in love. Evidently we conceive from the scriptures he had learned quite a bit of knowledge from his father about obedience and serving faithfully.
The Lord began to speak to Joseph through dreams. He told his family the dreams and they were furious. Later he was thrown in a pit and sold into slavery.
Through God’s favor the Lord caused him to become chief executive in Potiphar’s house. Then, through faithfulness to God and Potiphar, he ran away to avoid adultery.
He was wrongfully accused and thrown into jail, where the Lord’s favor again caused him to be chief in the jail. Then after the butler and the baker had dreams, Joseph gave the interpretation thereof. Just what Joseph had said took place, but they forgot about him.
Wow, what a faithful man of God. If it were us, we would be angry, mad, downtrodden and discouraged, just to name a few of the emotions must of us would have been, including a prayer of “Why me, get me out of all this” and such.
Yet Joseph stayed the course. Then Pharaoh had a dream no one could interpret, so eventually they remembered Joseph. They brought him to Pharaoh, where he declared to them all that God, who he served continually, interprets dreams. Joseph then interpreted the dream. Again through God’s awesome favor Joseph becomes ruler over all of Egypt.
After being ripped away from his family, all he has and everything he has known is gone. Yet through every trial God, with his right hand, has been blessing him with favor. God has also been working with his left hand to complete his plan.
Joseph becomes this amazing ruler, and through the favor of God saves all of Egypt, the surrounding areas and most of all his family, which he puts back together.
What a story of the beautiful, amazing grace of God. He is always working things out. Trust God. He has our best interest in mind. And remember, trials are merely opportunities to shine. So remember, when bad things are happening, all things work together for good to those who love the Lord.
I will share some more next week.
Please remember Eva Mae, who has been sick for a few weeks. Remember Bro. James Albert, who has not been up to par the last few weeks, and T.J. Avent as well, who has been sick quite a while and up and down lately. Also remember Leneze and family.
God bless you all during this holiday season. Merry Christmas. Also a reminder that we will not be having service this Sunday, but we will resume on the 29th of December.
Food for thought from Matthew 1:16 – God also had another plan for Joseph.
