What a blessed week it has been. The weather has been beautiful and it’s been nice seeing several neighbors out tending lawns and enjoying the sunshine and fresh air. I don’t usually take a lot of time to write about our lovely neighbors here in the Fame community, so I would like to take a little bit of time this week to share about a few who live close to us. Our neighbor directly across the street, Ms. Pat, has been doing a great job keeping her lawn. You can definitely tell how many hours she puts in to make it look beautiful. Miss Clemmie Lou Whitaker‘s yard has been looking so nice as well. Her son Charlie came down and souped it up real good for her. We are so glad to have Ms. Clemmie back home here in the community. I know she is happy to be back with family and friends. Out walking not too long ago we met our other neighbors Ms. Anne and Mr. Jimmy out riding on their golf cart. We were out walking and enjoying nature, and they were, too. It was a pleasure talking with them. It’s always a joy seeing all the crosses throughout the community still standing from Easter. It was a joy to meet Jamie Brown Jr. and his wife, Jessica, this week. They have such a beautiful piece of property at home. Their family had been working hard decorating for a wedding. Everything looked lovely. A new neighbor recently moved into the community. It is a pleasure to have them. We stopped by and met them this past week. We welcome them and pray they enjoy living here in our little community. If you noticed at the end of Fame Church Road, we recently cleaned, straightened, painted, secured and added reflectors to the Fame Church sign. It turned out nice. If you happen to be out and about traveling through the community, you’ll notice several American flags flying this week in honor of Memorial Day and those who gave their all for this country. Many men and women throughout time have sacrificed everything to win the freedoms we have today as a nation. We thank them and we honor them all. Romans 13:7 tells us to give credit and honor where it is due. It is a blessing to have so many listening in to our Sunday messages on the radio as well as those who attended service in person back in the sanctuary. As a pastor, it brought joy to my heart to see so many turn out to worship the Lord, together, during these trying times. We thoroughly enjoyed having Ms. Shirley and Harold Avant in-service with us this week. It certainly was a joy visiting with them. We will all be thankful when things get back to more of a normal. We’ve truly missed having our choir, choir director, faithful pianist and singers. We hope and pray that the coming weeks ahead our services will be brought somewhat back to normalcy. We look forward to that day. During these trying times we look to the word of God that gives us comfort. The word says, “Look to the hills from whence my help cometh. My help comes from the Lord.” Stay strong everyone. I hope everyone has a blessed and wonderful Memorial Day holiday week and weekend. Our services will continue be broadcast on 88.5 FM. You can listen in every week at 11 a.m. God bless!
