It’s been awhile since we put one of these out , so lets start the day of our Christmas party! What a party! Santa Claus came and his wife. They visited with us all, gave out presents and enjoyed some snacks with us. We had a great time. The room was packed; some had to stay out in the hallway, but Santa visited out there too. We had a great time! I love this time of year.
The next Monday was spent taking down the Christmas decorations; those Leslies in the activity department are slave drivers, ha-ha.
Thank you to Bro. James Hill and his church family for donating beautiful handmade wreaths for every door in the nursing home. This was a huge treat! We also thank Fred’s discount store for the huge box of donations that were given out to residents, and Toad Donahoo and Friends for coming out on Christmas Eve.
The residents enjoyed a wonderful Christmas holiday thanks to our families, staff and community.
I couldn’t take my nap so I could stay awake for New Year’s Eve. I fooled her though. I stayed awake with the help of toothpicks to keep my eyes open!
We also had a New Year’s party remembering the year 2018 and ringing in the year 2019.
We thank Fred’s Discount Store for donations we got in bingo on Monday, Jan. 7. Yes, we have Monday Night Bingo now!
We also thank Mathiston Baptist Church for the ongoing donations they provided during the Christmas season and Gifts of Love by Karen Collins and friends. We are so thankful.
We had a few that have been a little under the weather so we waited to have our big celebrations all together.
On Jan. 11 we brought in the New Year together in the dining room. We did this as a small group on Jan. 1 and were served sparkling grape juice down the halls to bring in the new year but we had to have a BIG family New Year’s party together. Residents enjoyed it complete with music and lots of noisemakers!
Thank you to all our volunteers, churches and helpers over the year. We love and appreciate you all.
