The Eupora Rotary Club recognized senior Sydney Ferguson as Rotary Student of the Month from East Webster High School at its Feb. 26 luncheon.
She was introduced by Teacher of the Month Carolyn Henley
Sydney’s extracurricular activities have included the Interact Club, Student Council, Beta Club, FCA, varsity cheer, varsity tennis, and Mantee Baptist Church youth praise band and youth group.
Her achievements include Merit Scholar 2015-19, Beta Club chaplain, Student Council secretary, EWHS Homecoming Court 2016 and 2018, and Miss Magnolia 2018.
Sydney’s community service activities include serving meals to the needy at Memphis Union Missions, numerous church mission trips, Salvation Army bell ringer, Habitat for Humanity and hurricane disaster relief in Comerio, Puerto Rico.
She has taken advanced placement classes and upon graduation will have completed 18 hours of college coursework. Sydney plans to attend Mississippi College to major in biochemistry and psychology on the pre-med route with plans to become a family physician.
