We fed the birds Friday at the Maben Public Library. Our story was “Are You My Mother?”
The baby bird when hatched started looking for his mother, who had gone to get the baby bird something to eat. Since he had not yet seen his mother, he didn’t know what she looked like. While looking for her, he saw a kitten, a hen, a dog, a cow, a boat, an airplane and a snort.
The snort picked him up and put him back in his nest just as mother bird was returning with his lunch, a worm!, Ugh! The children all said they didn’t want a worm.
We had some peanut butter crackers after we made bird feeders with peanut butter and birdseed. Then we went outside and hung the birdfeeders in a tree. And as usual the children played with Play-Doh and listened to music.
