Since it is getting close to Easter, we read a book about “Little Chick’s Happy Easter” at the Maben Public Library on Friday.
Little chick wakes up and sees Easter is on its way. That year it was April 14. Easter is not on the 14th this year but on April 21. It is always on Sunday!
He wanted to surprise his mother for Easter but wasn’t sure what to do. His mama left and he saw the eggs in the nest. He rolled each egg out of the nest and put them in a basket.
The animals watched him to see what he was doing. Soon Mama Hen came back and she was really surprised to see all the eggs were dyed pretty colors and decorated with stripes, dots and squiggles.
Then they heard a noise. It was a peck, peck, peck. The eggs were hatching. This surprise was like no other, two little sisters and one little brother!
The children enjoyed playing with plastic eggs and dying and decorating real eggs. They decorated with crayons, markers and stickers. They colored a basket with eggs that they cut out and glued in their baskets.
Friday our visitors were Lilli Cate Anderson; Marilyn Brown; Tripp, Welles and Chelsey Fouche; Adelyn, John Wyatt, Ansley and Brittany Parker; Kinsley Dodd; Mason, Joshua, Lydia, Sadie and Maylea Thornton; Kaylyn Davis; Troop and Vivie Halford.
