Nearly 600 students have applied to receive diplomas Friday, May 3, 2019, when East Central Community College holds its 90th Commencement beginning at 6 p.m. in the Neshoba County Coliseum in Philadelphia.
The final number of graduates will be determined after all applications for graduation are reviewed and final grades for the spring 2019 semester are posted.
Included in the total are those who completed degree requirements following the 2019 spring and the 2018 summer and fall terms, according to Dr. Teresa Mackey, vice president for instruction.
Those participating in the commencement program May 3 include graduating sophomores Ryan Ethridge of Collinsville, who will give the invocation; Rebekah Scitzs, also of Collinsville, commencement speaker; and Joshua Warnsley of Decatur, benediction. Presenting the musical selection “Homeward Bound” will be graduating sophomores Anna Brooke Skinner of Union, and Courtney McNair, Courtney Smith, and Jackson Lovorn, all of Philadelphia.
This year’s Commencement will also be available for viewing on live stream video by visiting ECCC’s website at www.eccc.edu/eccc-media.
Dr. Mackey will present candidates for graduation and college President Dr. Billy Stewart will award degrees and certificates to the following:
