Friday our story at the Maben Public Library was “Dinosaurumpus!,” written by Tony Mitton and illustrated by Guy Parker-Rees.
It was a silly book that told of dinosaurs that romped the earth long, long, ago. There was a triceratops, a deinsuchus, an apatosaurus, a pterandon, a stegosaurus, a styracosaurus, a pack of deinonychuses, which are small dinosaurs, and a tyrannosaurus that came crashing in, gnashing his jaws.
But all they wanted to do was the Dinosaurumpus! They soon tired themselves out and all you could hear was dinosaurs snoring.
The children painted with plastic dinosaurs, then made fossils in Play-Doh with them and each got to take one home along with the books about dinosaurs to continue playing and learning about dinosaurs!
