Gary Dale Jackson

Services for the Rev. Gary Dale Jackson, 73, were April 17, 2024, at Kilmichael Baptist Church with burial in Morgan Chapel Cemetery near Sturgis.
He was born Sept. 11, 1950, in Oktibbeha County to Sara Wylie Jackson and the late Fred Auvergne Jackson. The Rev. Jackson started out with a career in banking and later pastored churches that included Providence Church near Weir, Kilmichael Baptist Church, where he was a member, and Bethsaida Baptist Church in French Camp. He served in the Mississippi Senate from January 2004-June 30, 2020, when he resigned because of health issues. The Rev. Jackson died April 13, 2024, at his residence near Weir.
Survivors include his wife, Dianne Poss Jackson; two sons, Corbett Jackson of Sturgis and David Perry of French Camp; his mother, Sara Wylie Jackson; two brothers, Tom Jackson of Sturgis and Randall Jackson of Choteau, Montana; two sisters, Beverly Rives and Aurie James of Sturgis; eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Memorials may be made to French Camp Academy.
Coleman Funeral Home of Ackerman was in charge of arrangements.
James Curtis Mays

Services for James Curtis Mays, 59, were April 12, 2024, at Third Mt. Olive M.B. Church in West Point with the Willie A. Mays officiating. Burial followed at Embry Cemetery in Eupora.
He was born June 30, 1964, in Eupora to the late Joe Willie Mays and Lula Mae Mays. Mr. Mays was formerly employed as a welder. He died March 28, 2024, at his home in West Point.
Survivors include his son, Hakeem Mays of West Point; brothers, Larry W. Mays, Willie A. Mays and Willie L. Mays; sisters, Mary Ann Smith and Betty Brown of Starkville, Mary Alice McComb and Hattie Mills of Bellefontaine, Cora Crumble of Shannon, Evaline Fuller and Erma Mays of Eupora, and Vanessa Mays Ervin; and eight grandchildren.
Carter’s Mortuary Services of West Point was in charge of arrangements.

Patricia Stepp Patterson

Memorial services for Patricia Stepp Patterson, 73, will be at 11 a.m. April 20, 2024, at Coleman Funeral Home in Ackerman with Dr. Danny Irvin officiating.
She was born Nov. 17, 1950, in Tennessee to the late Boyd and Doris Koerwitz Stepp. Mrs. Patterson was a retired Wal-Mart associate. She died April 11, 2024, at her residence in Ackerman.
Survivors include a son, Jeff Paulk of Ackerman; a daughter, Kayla Newlin of Weir; a brother, Charles Stepp of Salem, Tennessee; a sister, Diana O’Connor of Placentia, California; and three grandchildren.
