Mr. Thomas Augusta McCleer, 78, passed away on Sunday, March 31, 2024, at Mississippi Baptist Medical Center in Jackson, MS. Funeral services were held at 1:00 P.M. on Thursday, April 4th, at Porter Funeral Home with Mr. Allen Krajewski officiating. Interment was in Memorial Park Cemetery. Porter Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Tom was born May 14, 1945, in Arkansas. He worked in construction all of his life and was blessed to be able to travel all over the United States with his work. Tom was an avid fisherman and spent many hours on the water pursuing his hobby. Tom loved his family and loved spending time with them.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Minnie Margaret McCleer; his parents, Gus and Lorene McCleer; and a brother, Frank McCleer.
He is survived by a daughter, Tina L. (George) Cooley of Byhalia, MS; two sons, Thomas A. McCleer of Lake Cormorant, MS, and James A. McCleer of Hernando, MS; two sisters, Pat Witten of Pelzer, SC, and Loretta Peery of Summerville, SC; a brother, Rick McCleer of Tulsa, OK; seven grandchildren, and fourteen great grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Thomas Reed, Michael Hill, Cully McCleer, Zander Reed, Mark McCleer, and Matt McCleer.
