Funeral services for Earma Burnside Cole were held on Wednesday, February 28 at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses.
A native of Winston County, she was born in 1954. She passed away on February 19, 2024, in Meridian.
Mrs. Cole is survived by her husband, Jimmie Cole; four children, Elizabeth Knight, Derek Cole, Liquetta Gordon, and Demetric Cole granddaughters, Kyla and Morgan Cole, grandson Dorian Cole and two great grandchildren, three sisters and a brother.
Bessie Jean Kirkwood

Funeral services for Bessie Jean Kirkwood, 73, were held on Saturday, March 16, 2024, at Millspring Missionary Baptist Church. Rev. Roy Williams officiated service. Burial was held in Enon Cumberland cemetery.
A native of Weir, Mrs. Kirkwood was born in 1950. She died on March 3, 2024, at her home in Weir.
She is survived by her two daughters, Deloris Miller and Annette Mitchell; three sons, Tyrece Kirkwood, Jerome Kirkwood and Jimmy Kirkwood, two brothers, 32 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.
Beck Funeral Home of Weir was in charge of arrangements.
