Brenda Jones, 72, passed away April 3, 2024, at her residence in Eupora, MS. Funeral Services were held at 11:00AM Monday, April 8, 2024, at Fellowship Baptist Church in Mathiston, MS with burial in Fellowship Cemetery in Choctaw County. Rev. Brent Manasco and Rev. Ralph Cain officated. Pallbearers were Billy Ray Cummings, Stephan Scogin, Rodney Pollard, James Bennett, Randy Singleton and Curtis Rice.
She was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church in Mathiston, MS.
Brenda is survived by a daughter; Suzanne (Stephen) Scogin of Eupora, MS, a son; Timothy (Sonya) Anderson of Caledonia, MS, one sister; Debra (Curtis) Rice of Flora, MS, one sister-in-law; Nancy Singleton of Bessemer, AL, one aunt; Quida Walker of Canton, MS, three grandchildren; Lisa (Rodney) Pollard, James (Ashley) Bennett of Mathiston, MS and Breland Anderson of Birmingham, AL, five great grandchildren; Ashlynn Pollard, Colton Pollard, Ember Bennett, Oaklynn Bennett and Kai Johnson and a host of nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents; W.J. and Cleo Mae Boatman Singleton, one sister; Etta Jane Romaine, one brother; James Milton Singleton and her nephew; Danny Singleton.
Brenda was born July 16, 1951, in Kilmichael, MS to W.J. and Cleo Mae Boatman Singleton. She was a graduate of Wood Junior College and worked at Mississippi State University as a clerical assistant. She also managed a daycare in her home for many years where she cared for two of her grandchildren and several others. She enjoyed shopping for her family for Christmas and for other special occasions, making Christmas cookies and candies, planting flowers in her yard, crocheting blankets and cleaning everything. She also enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
