Oh! The weather outside Friday, January 10, was..frightful? Here’s to hoping the fires were so delighful! And who are we kidding, we’re in Winston County – of course there weren’t many places to go, so why not let it snow, let it snow, let it snow!
Residents in Winston County heard for quite some time it was only suppose to be a freezing rain but roads could be an issue Friday. Many were surprised to learn it did more than freezing rain, residents received a couple of inches of snow.
With a power outage that affected over 700 people and roads that were beginning to ice over and make it hard for travel, Winston County Supervisors, Winston County Sheriff’s Department, City of Louisville, Louisville Utilities and the Louisville Police Department worked tirelessly to restore and ensure residents were nice, warm, and safe.
If you didn’t see much of a flurry, don’t fret. You may have a second chance to do so. The National Weather service is predicting that a cold front will come through the week of January 19 through January 22 and this cold front, unlike the one we just had, has colder wind to interact with.
This could mean that residents may see another snow, and it could bring more than the last one. But, only time will tell.
