Ephesians 5:6 says, “Let no man deceive you with vain words: for because of these things cometh the wrath of God upon the children of disobedience.”
Colossians 3:6 says, “Foer which things’ sake the wrath of God cometh on the children of disobedience.”
Wow, what powerful word for all of us! God is warning us about the consequences of sin. In Colossians above the sixth verse, he’s saying you have been born again; don’t keep doing the things you once did. Set your affections on things above. He said to mortify (that means to kill) fornication, uncleanness, inordinate affection, evil concupiscence and covetousness, which is idolatry.
Then in the eighth verse he goes on to say to put off anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, filthy communication out of your mouth. In Ephesians he is telling us that we will have no inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God if we do those things. So if these things are going on in your life, you need to repent and ask God to put in us a clean heart and a right spirit.
I know this is heavy word today but we are facing a new year and the warfare (spiritual) that we are in is getting greater and you and I need more of God than we ever have.
We can’t keep playing and pretending that we are children of God. We have to have works of God and not flesh to back us up. The Word says you can tell a tree by the fruit it bears. People will know we are Christians by our love!
