Praise the Lord everybody, how great is our God!
We just came through Thanksgiving and we are so blessed. I’m so thankful for family, friends and a wonderful church to go to. I want to thank everyone who reads my piece in the paper and tell me how it blesses them. This truly is a God thing; I just want to touch someone’s life. And you bless me by reading it!
We were blessed this past Sunday in having a baptism at the church; one lady was 73 years old and blind, but she wanted to be baptized The other lady is elderly too. But praise the Lord, age has nothing to do with it when it comes to the heart of God. Both ladies were a blessing to us.
The word that I have for you today is found in John 15, verses 4-7: “Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me.
“I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.
“If a man abide not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned.
“If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you.”
What this word is saying is that you have got to have a relationship with the Lord. You can’t just say you know him; you have got to know him.
Don’t be like the five foolish virgins in Matthew 25. They were left behind because they didn’t have any oil in their lamps. We need to watch and pray and be sure that we have a relationship with the Lord. Don’t keep putting off committing our life to the Lord. He loves you very much.
