ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS
Sealed Bids for the construction of the Sewer System Improvements will be received by the City of Louisville and the Chairman and Board Members of the Louisville Utilities Commission, at the offices of Louisville Utilities Commission located at 871 South Columbus Avenue, Louisville, MS 39339, until May 9, 2019 at 10:00 a.m., at which time the Bids received will be publicly opened and read. The Project consists of constructing Sewer System Improvements.
Bids will be received for a single prime Contract. Bids shall be on a unit price basis, with additive and/or deductive alternate bid items as indicated in the Bid Form.
The Issuing Office for the Bidding Documents is: Calvert-Spradling Engineers, Inc.; 7085 Highway 45 North Alternate, P.O. Drawer 1078; West Point, MS 39773. Prospective Bidders may examine the Bidding Documents at the Issuing Office on Mondays through Fridays during regular business hours, and may obtain copies of the Bidding Documents from the Issuing Office as described below.
Printed copies of the Official Bidding Documents may be obtained from the Issuing Office, during the hours indicated above, upon payment of a non-refundable deposit of $100 for each set. Checks for Bidding Documents shall be payable to Calvert-Spradling Engineers, Inc. Upon request and receipt of the document deposit indicated above plus a non-refundable shipping charge, the Issuing Office will transmit the Bidding Documents via delivery service. The shipping charge amount will depend on the shipping method selected by the prospective Bidder. The date that the Bidding Documents are transmitted by the Issuing Office will be considered the Bidder’s date of receipt of the Bidding Documents. Partial sets of Bidding Documents will not be available from the Issuing Office. Neither Owner nor Engineer will be responsible for full or partial sets of Bidding Documents, including Addenda if any, obtained from sources other than the Issuing Office.
Bid security shall be furnished in accordance with the Instructions to Bidders.
This project is financed by a Community Development Block Grant and is subject to the rules and regulations thereof.
The successful bidder must comply with Section 3 of the Housing and Urban Development Act of 1968 (12 U.S.C. 1701u). CDBG regulations governing the grant require that, to the greatest extent feasible opportunities for contracting, subcontracting, training and employment arising in connection with this CDBG project will be extended to Section 3 businesses and Section 3 residents.
Minority and Woman Owned Business Enterprises are solicited to bid on this contract as prime contractors and are encouraged to make inquiries regarding potential subcontracting opportunities, equipment, material and/or supply needs.
