NOTICE TOBIDDERS
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN TO ALL QUALIFIED FINANCIAL INSTITUTIONS THAT THE SCHOOL BOARD OF THE CHOCTAW COUNTY SCHOOL DISTRICT. PURSUANT TO THE PROVISIONS OF SECTIONS 37-7-333, 27-105-305, AND 27-105-315 OF THE MISSISSIPPI CODE OF 1972 AS AMENDED. SHALL RECEIVE SEALED BIDS FOR THE PRIVILEGE OF KEEPING THE SCHOOL DISTRICT FUNDS FROM JULY 1, 2019 THROUGH JUNE 30, 2020 AND THEREAFTER UNTIL NEW ARRANGEMENTS SHALL BE MADE ACCORDING TO LAW.
SAID BIDS SHALL BE RECEIVED AT THE OFFICE OF THE SUPERINTENDENT 19 EAST MAIN STREET, PO BOX 398, ACKERMAN, MISSISSIPPI, UNTIL 10:00 A.M. ON JUNE 7, 2019, AND EACH SHALL BE SUBMITTED ON THE BID PROPOSAL FORM WHICH MAY BE OBTAINED FROM THE OFFICE OF THE SUPERINTENDENT.
THE SCHOOL BOARD RESERVES THE RIGHT TO REJECT ANY AND ALL BIDS AND TO WAIVE ANY IRREGULARITIES IN THE BIDS. IN ORDER TO BE CONSIDERED EACH SEALED BID SHALL HAVE “DEPOSITORY BID: 7 JUNE 2019” WRITTEN OR TYPED ON ITS FACE.

BASIS OF AWARD
The award, if made, will be made to the lowest qualified bidder on the basis of the published quantities.
Also, the attention of bidders is hereby directed to the specific Equal Opportunity responsibilities set out in this proposal. At the time the contract is executed, the successful bidder will be required to designate the Equal Opportunity officer who shall be delegated such authority and responsibility so as to effectively administer and promote equal employment opportunities within the contractor’s organization in connection with the construction of this project.
The Board of Supervisors hereby notifies all bidders that it will affirmatively insure that, in any contract entered into pursuant to this advertisement, minority business enterprises will be afforded full opportunity to submit bids in response to this invitation and will not be discriminated against on the grounds of race, color, or national origin in consideration for an award.
Plans and specifications are on file in the Office of the Chancery Clerk of Choctaw County, the County Engineer’s office and the Office of the State Aid Engineer, 412 Woodrow Wilson Avenue, Jackson, Mississippi. This project shall be constructed in accordance with the 2004 edition of the Mississippi Standard Specifications for State Aid Road and Bridge Construction.
PLANS AND PROPOSALS may be secured from Thomas M (Marty). Crowder, P.E., County Engineer for Choctaw County, Mississippi, c/o Crowder Engineering & Surveying, Inc., P. O. Box 1209, Ackerman, MS 39735 (662-285-2062). The Cost is fifty dollars ($50.00) for plans and fifty dollars ($50.00) for the proposal, non-refundable.
Certified check or bid bond for five percent (5%) of the total bid, made payable to Choctaw County and the State of Mississippi must accompany each proposal.
Bidders are hereby notified that any proposal accompanied by letters qualifying in any manner the condition under which the proposal is tendered will be considered an irregular bid, and such proposal will not be considered in making the award.
