HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY!
Not that every day might not be filled with love, but this day we highlight it! St. Valentine was beheaded by a wicked leader who had outlawed marriage and Bishop Valentine had continued to marry folks secretly. After the brief ceremony he gave them a paper heart of sorts and signed it Valentine, so the couple had something special to remember the day. True or tale we have continued to send cards/gifts to remind our loved ones of our loving care. Get and give a hug or two!
We are well into Black History Month and two young black women come to mind. The first is a G.O.A.T. Simone Biles the outstanding gymnast who despite her skill and favor suffers from ADHD, yet says, "We can push ourselves further. We always have more to give." The other came to mind when I learned that Flda. banned her 2021 inauguration poem! Really? Amanda Gorman continues to write and bring us beauty. These two continue to create both black and American history. Aren't we fortunate? Notice how love is expressed!
Cynthia Rylant, US author, in A Fine White Dust, wrote, "I know now that you can't expect anything from anybody. If somebody loves you, it's because he wants to. And it's never because it's what he's supposed to do."
BLESSINGS.
