I was reading in a devotional book this morning and it touched me so.
It was about a teacher that asked her students to give a speech titled “What I Would Like for My Tombstone to Read.” As I was thinking about that, I remembered a song I used to sing years ago called “What Will I Leave Behind?”
As parents we want our children to prosper and do better than we did. But I wonder how many of us can say we have left a spiritual heritage for our children and grandchildren. What will they remember most about you, your nasty ways or your godly ways.
Micah 6:8 says, “He has shown you, O man, what is good; and what does the Lord require of you but to do justly, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God?
Let me ask you, are you doing justly, loving mercy and walking humbly with God? All of the things we do goes on our record; we have to give account to God.
I pray that we all can be of service to God and also to love one another. We are not sent here to act as thought we are the only ones God created. We are to love one another and know that God loves us. We need to live as though we are leaving something good behind.
