Hello everyone. I pray all are doing well. God is good all the time and all the time good. The weather was warm and pretty last week leading up to this Sunday. I was able to get out and do a little yard work. I see several others have been out doing theirs as well. Looks like we’ll be getting some needed rain this week from the tropical storm that has made landfall on the Gulf Coast. I’ve seen farmers beginning to sell fresh vegetables at local farmers’ markets. The veggies look nice and healthy. I’ve seen squash, tomatoes and cucumbers already, and we were able to purchase freshly shelled purple hull peas. My wife makes homemade spicy dill pickles, so she’s happy to see the cucumbers. It was a beautiful day in the house of the Lord this week. We are glad to see all the smiling faces of faithful Fame Church members returning back to the sanctuary. We have surely missed everyone, but indeed understand the need for having been away over the past couple of months. God is always at work wherever we are. I’m so glad to know he lives in our hearts and that he can go with us everywhere we go. He can be found wherever we find ourselves, whether in the sanctuary, the home or in the car tuning in to the broadcast. Worship is an attitude of the heart and can happen wherever you are. Isn’t that so wonderful to know?! This week’s message was about “Digging Deep.” We must dig deep, get rooted and immovable. We must also allow God to dig deep to remove anything holding us back, anything that’s causing us not to anchor in and grow in his likeness. He may have to shovel away at the soul of our hearts to get rid of the things that so easily beset us so we can stand on a firm foundation that we know as Christ Jesus. I am reminded of the words to the beautiful old hymn “My Hope Is Built on Nothing Less.” The words read like this... “My hope is built on nothing less than Jesus Christ, my righteousness. I dare not trust the sweetest frame, but wholly lean on Jesus’ name. “On Christ the solid rock I stand, all other ground is sinking sand. “When darkness veils his lovely face, I rest on his unchanging grace. In every high and stormy gale, my anchor holds within the veil. “His oath, his covenant, his blood support me in the whelming flood. When all around my soul gives way, he then is all my hope and stay. “When he shall come with trumpet sound, Oh may I then in him be found. In him, my righteousness, alone, faultless to stand before the throne. “On Christ the solid rock I stand, all other ground is sinking sand.” Church, we must dig deep. We must be planted on the Rock. We must anchor in deep. If we do, then when the storms of life come, we won’t be easily blown by the winds of life. May you all be blessed and have a wonderful week ahead. Continue to pray for those on the prayer list. We see the Lord working and moving on their behalf. We are thankful for the testimonies of those who are seeing a healing and feeling God move in their situations and circumstances. We hope to see you all next week. Remember, you may also tune into the broadcast on your radio station 88.5 FM each week at 11 a.m. We love you all; God bless. Pastor Michael Haas
