Patrice Hamill Simon, born July 4, 1952 in Greenwood, MS lived in Winona, Louisville, Jackson and Biloxi , MS until her death on July 2, 2025. Had she lived just 2 more days she would have been 73. She was preceded in death by both parents, Joy and Lee Hamill of Jackson, MS.
Patrice was married to Joe Simon, a University of Mississippi graduate of the School of Pharmacy. They made their home in North Jackson where Joe worked for the Veterans’ Administration Hospital (VA) and Patrice sold residential real estate. Their daughters, Lindsay and Susannah, attended Jackson Academy before going to and graduating from Ole Miss.
Patrice leaves behind two lovely daughters, Lindsay Simon Lechner (Jeff) of Biloxi, and Susannah Simon Swingos (Dan) of San Diego, CA, a sister, Susan Hamill Stewart (Bob) of Atlanta, GA, five grandchildren, Channing and Gage Lechner of Biloxi, MS and Delta, Jay and Emmy Swingos of San Diego and many nieces and nephews.
Patrice attended the public schools of Louisville, MS and graduated in May, 1970. She loved living in Louisville and even more than 50 years later, still enjoyed several friendships from her years there.
She graduated from the Mississippi University for Women in Columbus, MS in three years with a degree in History in May, 1973.
Patrice taught high school in Jackson before she had children and then later had a career in residential real estate, also in Jackson.
Her Memorial Service will be held on the 21st of November, 2025 at a private dining room at Walker’s Drive-In in Jackson, MS.
