BILLY MALCOLM HUNT
The family of Billy Malcolm Hunt is saddened to announce his passing on December 22, 2025 at the age of 83.
He was born at Ackerman MS. Billy will be well remembered by his wife of 59 years, Cheryl Kay (White) Hunt, his sister, Betty Joyce (Hunt) Jardine, Moss Point, MS, S-I-L Victoria (Vickie) Lynn (Ridgeway) Hunt, Fountain Hills, AZ, grandchildren, Allison Marie Haug, Samantha Kay Haug, Ethan Forrest Haug, Abigail Renee Haug and Tyler James Hunt, nieces and nephews and numerous other family members and friends.
Billy was preceded in death by his daughter, Christie Marie Haug, and son, James (Jamie) Malcolm Hunt, his parents, Allen Fancher Hunt and Gassie Corinne (Oswalt) Hunt, brothers, Allen Duane Hunt, Kenneth Carnie Hunt and Michael Stein Hunt, M-I-L Emma Marie White and S-I-L Linda Joyce Ensminger.
Billy finished high school at Lucasville, Ohio, served in the Navy, graduated from Mississippi State University with a bachelor's degree in Business. He was proud of his Navy service on the USS Yorktown where he served as special radio operator.
An avid hunter, he had many tales to share with family and friends. He loved above all his family. He supported and shared in all of his daughter and son's outside activities especially motorbike cross, baseball, football and softball. If there, he was involved where possible.
Of his career achievements he served well in his positions with Continental Can Co, New Orleans LA and Texas Instruments in Houston TX. Afterwards he served as corporate state auditor for the State of Texas and later for the state of Ohio where he retired.
Funeral service visitation will be held, Monday, December 29th at 1:00 p.m. at Welch Funeral Home in Starkville, MS, with the service following at 2:00 p.m. Immediate graveside service will be held following at Clear Springs cemetery, Sturgis-Maben Rd.
