Betty Ann Morris Blackwelder age 82 of Mathiston, Mississippi passed away peacefully at her residence on Wednesday, November 19, 2025. Betty was born in Memphis, Tennessee on March 19, 1943, to Jesse Willard Morris and Maydell Holder Morris.
She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt and member of Tri-County Baptist Church in Stewart, Mississippi.
Mrs. Betty is survived by her loving husband of forty-five years, Rev. Max Blackwelder of Mathiston, Mississippi; two daughters, Carol (Jim) Woods of Stewart, Mississippi and Wendy Dees of Eupora, Mississippi; one son, Danny (Nancy) Pruitt of Eupora, Mississippi; one stepdaughter, Beth (Michael) Hollings of Madison, Mississippi; one stepson, Jeff (Cheryl) Blackwelder of Pontotoc, Mississippi; two sisters, Dorothy Marbry of Eupora, Mississippi and Debbie Cartwright of Holiday, Tennessee; two brothers, Jesse Morris of Water Valley, Mississippi and John (Paula) Morris of Oxford, Mississippi; thirteen grandchildren; eighteen great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Jesse Willard Morris and Maydell Holder Morris and one son-in-law, Ben Dees.
Funeral Services for Mrs. Betty were held at 2:00PM on Friday, November 21, 2025, at Oliver Funeral Home Chapel in Eupora, Mississippi. The family received friends and loved ones for a time of visitation on Friday, November 21, 2025, from 12Noon until time for services at 2:00PM at Oliver Funeral Home. Interment followed at North Mississippi Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Kilmichael, Mississippi. Bro. Jeff Blackwelder officiated the services. Pallbearers were Christian Pruitt, Brandon Pruitt, Hunter Pruitt, Matthew Blackwelder, Nathan Hollings and James Hollings. Honorary Pallbearers were Stanley Maddox and the Men of Tri-County Baptist Church.
