Mary Virginia “Soonie” Greer
Funeral services for Mary Virginia “Soonie” Greer, 85, were held at 2 p.m., November 23 at Wesley U.M. Church in Louisville. Minister Kevin Greer officiated. Burial followed in the Louisville Memorial Cemetery.
Mrs. Greer died November 11 at the Kona Community Hospital in Kealakekua, Hawaii.
Survivors include 5 daughters, Mary Alice May, Berna Greer, Sharon Caulfield, Jennell Greer, and Karen Greer; 3 sons, Tyrone Miller Greer, Robert Greer, and Kevin Greer; 14 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Beck Funeral Home of Louisville was in charge of the arrangements.
Lue Esther Bates
Funeral services for Lue Esther Bates, 88, were held at 11 a.m., November 23 at Beck Funeral Home in Louisville. Rev. Kevin Forrest officiated.
Ms. Bates died November 16 at her home.
Survivors include 3 daughters, Dorris J. Lee, Shirley F. Bates, and Joyce A. Facen; one step-daughter, Willie Ann Nunn; 4 sons, Clifton Shelton, Jr., Larry D. Bates, McKinley Bates, and Charles Bates; 14 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; and 3 great great grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Services for Elizabeth Brooks, 79, of Ackerman were Nov. 21, 2019, at Coleman Funeral Home in Ackerman with the Rev. Don Morgan officiating. Burial followed at Blythe Creek Cemetery in Reform.
She was born Aug. 14, 1940, in Choctaw County to the late Alton and Jettie Wilson Adkins. Mrs. Brooks died Nov. 19, 2019, at Choctaw County Medical Center in Ackerman,
Survivors include four sons, Paul Brooks of Ackerman, Perry Brooks of Inverness, Fla., and Phillip Allday and Allen Allday of Bassfield; four daughters, Pamela Avent of Eupora, Patty Jackson and Pennie Watson of Ackerman, and Paula Schaefer of Cumberland; four sisters, Mattie Lou Blaylock of Winona, Eleanor Ernest of Slate Springs, Genell Warren of Wisconsin and Sue Guess of Eupora; 28 grandchildren; 51 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.
