Willie Mae Baber-Ashford Graveside services for Willie Mae Baber-Ashford, 77, were held at 11 a.m., October 20 at Mt. Salem MB Church cemetery in Ackerman. Rev. Dr. James Baber officiated. Mrs. Ashford died October 21 at her daughter’s home in Ridgeland. Survivors include one daughter, Anita Baber Oliver; 2 sons, Joe Wayne Baber and Calvan Miller; 1 sister, Mattie Yarbrough; 3 brothers, Rev. Dr. James Baber, Gilbert Baber, and Rev. John Baber; 10 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews. Beck Funeral Home of Weir was in charge of the arrangements. Alline Carter Graveside services for Alline Carter, 61, were held at 11 a.m., October 30 at Mt. Pleasant #2 Church Cemetery in Noxapater. Dr. Curtis Johnson officiated. Alline died October 23 at her home. Survivors include one daughter, Takesha Carter; 4 sisters, Lorean Moore, Mae Simpkins, Lena Carter, and Barbara Phyllis; 3 brothers, Jeffery Carter, Boe Carter, and Gene Carter; 1 grandchild, Myia Patty; and a host of nieces and nephews. Beck Funeral Home of Louisville was in charge of the arrangements. Susie B. Jackson Graveside services for Susie B. Jackson, 91, were held at the Louisville Memorial Cemetery. Bishop Joseph Berry officiated. Mrs. Jackson died October 22 at her home. Survivors include 3 daughters, Bessie Johnson, Annie Henley, and Wildon Jackson; 2 sons, Bennie Jackson and Dwight Jackson; 5 sisters, Vaterine Smith, Ruthie Mae Williams, Johnnie Kate Jackson, Catherine Triplett, and Ora Seals; 2 brothers, Harvey Jackson and Chad Jackson; 8 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; and 7 great, great grandchildren.
