Funeral services for Dudley "Doug" Patrick, 57, were held at 11 a.m., February 22 at the Eupora High School Auditorium in Eupora. Rev. Bobby McMullen officiated. Burial followed in Eupora.
Doug died February 9 at his home.
Survivors include his mother, Loisteen Patrick; one step-daughter, Sharee Nelson; 4 sons, Howard Eiland, Nathaniel Patrick, Jr., Eddie Ray HIckman, and Willie Patrick; three sisters, Ollie Mae Patrick, Nannette Gray, and Nancy HIckman; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Charles Bernice Fair
Funeral services for Charles Bernice Fair, 80, were held at 2 p.m., February 22 at Beck Funeral Home in Louisville. Minister Tyrone Edwards officiated. Burial followed in the Penderville cemetery in Weir, MS.
Charles died February 11 at the Choctaw County Hospital.
Survivors include one step mother, Faytonia Fair; one daughter, Kasey Wade; one son, Byron Fair; 4 sisters, Lorraine Griffin, Carolyn Nnaji, Opline Montgomery, and Ola Gladney; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Thelma Parish
Funeral services for Thelma Parish, 100, were held at 1 p.m., February 21 at the Greater Hope Pentecostal Church in Weir. Dr. I.D. Thompson officiated. Burial followed in Weir Chapel cemetery.
Mrs. Parish died on February 13 at her home.
Survivors include two sons, Robert Potts and Jimmy Parish; grandchildren; nieces; nephews; and other relatives and friends.

McKinley Bates
Graveside services for McKinley Bates, 58, were held on February 19 at Friendship M. B. Church in Gholson, MS. Dr. Willie J. Coleman, Jr. officiated.
McKinley died February 14 at Anderson Hospital in Meridian.
Survivors include 3 sisters, Dorris J. Lee, Shirley F. Bates, and Joyce A. Facen; three brothers, Larry D. Bates, Clifton Shelton, Jr., and Charles E. Bates; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Louritha Baber
Funeral services for Louritha Baber, 68, were held at 11 a.m., February 21 at Mt. Salem M.B. Church in Ackerman. Rev. Tyrone Stallings officiated. Burial followed in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Baber died February 14.
Survivors include her husband, Rev. John Baber; 3 daughters, Dorn Jenkins, Catina Baber, and Larfaya Blanton; one sister, Annie M. Patton; 4 grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.

James Fletcher “Fletch” Jones
James Fletcher “Fletch” Jones, age 77, passed away Tuesday, February 18, 2020, at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo, Mississippi. Funeral services were held 10 a.m. Thursday, February 20 at Friendship Baptist Church with Rev. Gene Gillis officiating. Visitation was the day of the service at the church from 9 a.m. until service time. Interment followed the service in McClelland Cemetery on Craig Springs Road.
Fletch was born September 1, 1942, to Clarence and Lavada Sides Jones. He was a member of Sturgis Baptist Church. He loved to fish and worked at Howard Furniture Company in Starkville.
Fletch is survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Thomas Brister

Memorial services for the Rev. Charles “Chuck” Thomas Brister, 50, of Collierville, Tenn., were Feb. 22, 2020, at Hope Church in Cordova, Tenn. A private burial was Feb. 21 in West Point.
Born April 7, 1969, in Winona to Carline Jacks Brister and the late Lloyd Brister, he was an employee of the Marriott Courtyard and Fairfield Inn in Collierville. The Rev. Brister served in youth ministry in churches throughout Mississippi for 22 years and pastored at First Baptist Church in West Point for 15 years. He was a member of Hope Church Memphis, where he served as a deacon and a small group leader. He died Feb. 18, 2020, after a short illness.
Survivors include his wife, Bee Brister; a son, Andy Brister; his mother, Carline Brister; his siblings, Billy Guy Brister and Judy Brister Smith of Eupora, and Bobby “Freddie” Brister of West Point; eight nieces and nephews; and six great-nieces and nephews.

Services for Virginia Dowdy, 91, of Columbus were Feb. 22, 2020, at Fellowship Baptist Church, Mathiston, with Rick Young officiating. A graveside service was Feb. 24 at Riverwood Memorial Park, Brookhaven.
She was born Jan. 6, 1929, in Mathiston to the late Charles and Virginia Breland Young. Mrs. Dowdy worked as a teacher and bookkeeper. She died Feb. 15, 2020, at the home of her caregiver.
Survivors include her children, Sharon Dowdy of Wylie, Texas, and Rodney Dowdy of Columbus; five grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Pallbearers were Dylan Cook, Matthew Dowdy, Michael Dowdy, Nick Dowdy, Justin Thurman and David Young.

Services for Martha Jo Garner Nobles, 90, of Ellisville were Feb. 15, 2020, at Ellisville Funeral Home with burial in Ellisville City Cemetery.
She was born May 2, 1939, to the late William Howell and Maggie Lee Garner, and was a 1957 graduate of Eupora High School. Mrs. Nobles died Feb. 12, 2020, at her home.
Survivors include her husband, Bartie Tlvin Nobles; a son, Jeff Nobles; two brothers, William Lee Garner and Howell Collier Garner; and four grandchildren.
Jimmie Donald Orr

Services for Jimmie Donald Orr, 84, of Vaiden were Feb. 20, 2020, at Vaiden Baptist Church with the Revs. Bill Poole, David Westmoreland, Jay Cothren and Leon Holly officiating. Burial was in Bluff Springs Baptist Church Cemetery in Webster County.
He was born Sept. 7, 1935, to Stancy Neal and Jim Orr in Mississippi County,
Ark.
Mr. Orr retired in 1993 as the state vocational agriculture director and later began the
Agriculture Youth Apprenticeship Farm Management Program in Tillar, Ark. He was a member of Vaiden Baptist Church, where he had served as deacon and building chairman. He died Feb. 16, 2020, at St. Dominic’s Hospital in Jackson.
Survivors include his wife, Wanda Cothren Orr; a son, Brent Orr; a daughter, Stancy Bond; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Ralph Alexander, Rickey Corley, Randy Cothren, Dr. Ronnie McGehee, Nathan Orr, Ray Poole Jr., Jerry Shirley and Jimmy Webb.
