Mrs. Christine Woods Box, 97, passed away at her home in Choctaw County on Tuesday January 11, 2022. Funeral Services were held 2:00PM Sunday, January 16, 2022, at Oliver Funeral Home Chapel with burial in Wood Springs Baptist Church Cemetery in Choctaw County. Bro. Larry Watson officiated.
Mrs. Box was born in Choctaw County on April 23, 1924, to Joseph Lester and Nannie Ruth Pearson Woods. She was a longtime homemaker and housewife and was a longtime active member of Wood Springs Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, Christine was preceded in death by her husband Elie Ethel "Hub" Box, four sisters, three brothers, a grandson; Kirby Box, two great grandchildren; Paxton Andrew Mitchell and Amber Marie Smith.
Mrs. Christine is survived by; two sons; Norval (Gwen) Box, Eupora, MS, and Larry (Lynda) Box, Eupora, MS, daughter; Faye (David) Atkins, Eupora, MS, two sisters; Joy Ellis, Winona, MS, and Ruth (Bennie) Blaylock, Winona, MS, five grandchildren; Melissa (Alan) Smith, Amanda (Robert) Mitchell, Tanya (Anthony) Dinning, Kelly (John) Massey and Michael (Alynda) Box, twelve great grandchildren; Dennis Alan Smith, Cody Smith, Dalton Smith, Arianne Mitchell, Levi Mitchell, Chase Dinning, Austin Dinning, Holly Massey, Liz Massey, Summer Massey, Holden Blake and Caden Loney, and four great great grandchildren; Bentley Smith, Bella Smith, Alana Smith and Savannah Jade Smith and a host of nieces and nephews.
