Eva Faye Williams Spruill, aged 83, passed away at Diversicare of Amory, Mississippi on December 12, 2020. She was born to the late James Henry and Beulah Frances Williams and was married to William Jackson “Jack” Spruill.
Mrs. Spruill was a talented musician and enjoyed playing the piano and gospel music. She loved going to Jeffrey Phillips singing school and the Ben Spears “Convention”. She was a lady of many talents because she was a great cook and enjoyed crocheting and sewing. She passed along her talents to her daughter and grandchildren. She was married to her husband, Jack, for sixty-three years. Before retirement she worked at both Wells Lamont Manufacturing and Futorian. She was a member of the Montevista Baptist Church.
She is survived by her husband, William Jackson “Jack” Spruill; a son, William A. “Speedy” (Susie) Spruill of Aberdeen, Mississippi; a daughter, Shirley Faye (Hughie) Polk of Hamilton, Mississippi; a brother, Sonny (Sue) Williams of Montevista, Mississippi; six grandchildren, Tina (Josh) Ferguson, Pam (Chad) Lollar, Keisha (Brandon) Gavin, Chris (Sam) Spruill, Kaylan Polk, and Allyson Polk; seventeen great-grandchildren; six great great-grandchildren; and two nieces.
She is preceded in death by her parents, James Henry and Beulah Frances Goodwin Williams and one sister, Mary Frances Williams.
A graveside service was held on Monday, December 14, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. at Montevista Cemetery in the Montevista Community. A visitation was held prior to the service at Montevista Cemetery from 12:30 until 1:00 p.m. Brother Jimmy Vance officiated the service. Wise Reed Funeral Home was in charge of all services.
