Michael Yarbrough
Funeral services for Michael Yarbrough, 67, were held at 11 a.m., July 1 at Beck Funeral Home. Rev. Billy Joe Clay officiated. Burial followed in the Louisville Memorial Cemetery.
Mr. Yarbrough died June 23 at the Methodist University Medical Center in Memphis, TN.
Survivors include his father, Rev. Ruben Yarbrough; his mother, Queen Esther Yarbrough; 2 daughters, Mila Yarbrough and Larissa Yarbrough; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Beck Funeral Home of Louisville was in charge of the arrangements.
Mertis Lee Young
Funeral services for Mertis Lee Young, 81, were held at 2 p.m., June 29 at Center Hill COGIC. Supt. Eric Loving and Elder Clifton Haynes officiated. Burial followed in the Center Hill Church Cemetery.
Mr. Young died June 24 at his home. Survivors include his wife, Aliceteen Young; 5 daughters, Dorothy Citchen, Felicia Edwards, Yolanda Triplett, Christina Young, and Vineta Young; 1 son, Mertis Lee Young, Jr.; 1 brother, Jimmie Young; 1 sister, Nancy Harris; 10 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Lynn Carr

Services for Lynn Carr, 55, of Starkville were June 30, 2021, at Coleman Funeral Home in Ackerman with the Revs. Jerry Lawson and Ralph Cain officiating. Burial followed in Concord Baptist Cemetery near Ackerman.
She was born June 25, 1966, in West Point to Shirley Jones Groceman and the late Charles Gaskin. Mrs. Carr died June 26, 2021, at Choctaw County Medical Center in Ackerman.
Survivors include her husband, Matt Carr of Starkville; her mother, Shirley Groceman of Ackerman; a daughter, Melissa Flake of Ackerman; a son, Nate Carr of Madison; two brothers, Ray Groceman of Ackerman and Ryan Groceman of Indiana; two sisters, Debbie Clark of Weir and Janet Dale Roark of Hendersonville, Tenn.; and three grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Ben Carr, Will Carr, Tyler Flake, J.C. Holder, Jake Hough, Josh Hough and Max Hudson.
Nannie McPherson

Nannie McPherson passed away on Saturday, July 3, 2021, at St. Dominic Hospital in Jackson, MS. Mrs. McPherson was born April 4, 1938, in Choctaw County, MS, to Lois and Nova(Wood) Raines. She was 83 years old.
Memorial services will be held at a later date.
Mrs. McPherson is survived by 1 son, Roy Black of Ackerman; 1 daughter, Lisa Weeks of Ackerman; 2 brothers, Garland Raines and Gaylon Raines, both of Ackerman, MS;
2 sisters, Garay Williams of Mathiston, Shiane Bennett of Starkville, MS; 2 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.
Mrs. McPherson is preceded in death by her husband, her parents, and 1 brother.
