Mrs. Wells was a retired sitter. She died May 28, 2021, at her residence in Mathiston.
Survivors include two daughters, Karen Christensen of Mathiston and Mitzi Ward of Eupora; five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Funeral services for Mr. Hozell Fair, 80, were held on May 28, 2021 at 11am at Millspring M. B. Church of Weir, MS. Pastor Benjamin Lewis and Pastor Lee Carson officiated. Burial held at Millspring M. B. Church Cemetery.
Mr. Hozell Fair was born on September 8, 1941. He was a member of Millspring M. B. Church. Mr. Hozell Fair died on May 22, 2021.
Hozell is survived by: his children, Cathleen Johnson of Starkville, MS, Brenda Fair of Weir, MS, Jewell Fair and Rena McNeil of McCool, MS, Isabella Nicks of Huntsville, AL, and Michael Fair of Kosciusko, MS; ; brothers and sisters, Worlie Fair, Cora Fair, and Elmer Fair all of Weir, MS, Marie Pirtle of Ackerman, MS, Floria McCain, Dora Fair, Nathaniel Fair, and Lee Fair all of Washington DC, and Laura Simpson of St. Louis, MO; fourteen grandchildren; and a host of great-grandchildren, relatives, and friends.

Lawrence Leroy “Roy” Black

Lawrence Leroy “Roy” Black, Jr., 72, passed away on Saturday, May 22, 2021, at Winston Medical Center in Louisville, Mississippi. Funeral services were 3 p.m. Monday, May 24 in the Nowell-Massey Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. David Keen and Rev. Michael Wells officiating. Visitation was the day of the service from 2 p.m. until service time at Nowell-Massey Funeral Home. Interment followed the service at Rural Hill Cemetery in Louisville.
Roy was born October 19, 1948, to Lawrence Black, Sr. and Ellen Mary Wells Black. He was a member of Bethel Baptist Church.
Roy is survived by his sister Mary Jane Young of Louisville. He also leaves behind four nieces and a nephew. He is also survived by a host of great-nieces and great-great nieces.
Serving as pallbearers are Larry Cockrell, Kenny Kuhn, Mitch Sanders, Edward Stokes, Kenny Wright, and Ricky Wright.

Funeral services for Samuel Jones, 43, were held at 1 p.m., May 24 at the Louisville Memorial Cemetery. Dr. B.M. Pittman officiated.
Mr. Jones died May 2 at the Winston County Hospital.
Survivors include his father, John Willie Jones; 2 daughters, Kierra Brown and Porscha Jones; 2 sons, Zydarion Hughes and Jayden Jones; 5 sisters, Victoria Ferrell, Margaret Hoskins, Latoya Jackson, Mayr Jones, and Sudie Mosley; 3 brothers, Jerome Warren, Willie Jones, and Timothy Jones; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Hudson died May 24 at St. Dominic Hospital in Jackson.
