William “Bill” Robert Kent, aged 79, passed away at St. Dominic Hospital in Jackson Mississippi on January 24, 2022. He was the husband of Sarah Margaret Kent and son of the late Ben Irvin and Beatrice Ford Kent.
William was a lifelong resident of Mississippi. He attended Sturgis School and joined the Army. After serving in the Army, he met his future wife, Sarah. He knew immediately that he loved her and asked her to be his wife. He was a loving and kind person. Together, they reared eight sons and one daughter. William was a hardworking man who set a good example for his children. He spent his life in construction and carpentry. He attended the Church of God in Mathiston, Mississippi.
William is survived by his wife, Sarah Margaret Kent of Ackerman, Mississippi; a daughter, Crystal Bledsoe of Baytown, Texas, and four sons, David Kent of Florence, Alabama, Clark Kent of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Jesse Kent of Eupora, Mississippi, and Dustin Winfield of Pontotoc, Mississippi; two sisters, Annette Ivy of Sturgis, Mississippi, and Mary Ida Arentt; fifteen grandchildren; and twelve great-grandchildren.
William is preceded in death by his parents, Ben Irvin and Beatrice Ford Kent; four sons, Robert Winfield, Phillip Winfield, Michael Mann, and Douglas Kent; nine brothers; and four sisters.
Funeral service for William Robert Kent was Wednesday, January 26, 2022, at 2:00 p.m. at Wise Reed Chapel in Eupora, Mississippi. Visitation was prior to the service at Wise Reed Funeral Home from 12:00 until 2:00 p.m. Burial was at Antioch Cemetery. Wise Reed Funeral Home was in charge of all arrangements.
