Stanley “Bud” Baswell, 67, of Sturgis, Mississippi, passed away Friday, January 14, 2022, at Oktibbeha County Hospital Regional Medical Center in Starkville, Mississippi. Graveside services and interment were at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, January 18th at McClelland Cemetery on Craig Springs Road in Oktibbeha County and Kirby Cox officiated. Visitation was the day of the service from 10:30 a.m. until service time at McClelland Cemetery.
Bud was born April 24, 1954, to Billie and Jean Starks Baswell. He was a member of Gum Branch Baptist Church in Winston County, Mississippi. Bud was an avid outdoorsman who loved to hunt anything that moved! He enjoyed hanging out with his buddies and was always ready to help anyone.
Bud is survived by his daughter Ashley Kidd and husband Brandon of Ocean Springs, Mississippi. He is also survived by his sister Donna (Wayne) Edwards of Flowood, Mississippi, and his brother Bruce (Marsha) Baswell of Reno, Nevada. He was looking forward to the birth of his first grandchild in August. Bud was preceded in death by his parents.
Serving as pallbearers were Billy Collier, Hollie Pellum, James Prisock, Andy Stephenson, and Billy Stephenson.
