Roger Marlon Clay completed his Earthly journey on February 7, 2022 at the age of 88. He died while in the loving care of his daughter and son-in-law, Sheila and John Bolen, in Picayune, MS.
As a young man, he served in the U.S. Army as a paratrooper. Following his service in the Army, he was self-employed as a welder, working mostly in the area of Harvey, LA. In recent years, he made his home in the Claytown community of Louisville, MS where he grew up.
Mr. Clay was preceded in death by his parents, Stephen O. Clay, Jr. and Hazel Stokes Holton; his daughter, Candy Revette of Seminary, MS; his brother, Steve Clay, and two sisters, Barbara Ann Clay and Mary Sullivan, both of Louisville, MS. He is survived by his two sons, Jimmy (Rhonda) Clay of Hammond, LA and Perry Clay of Louisville, MS; two daughters, Cindy Clay of Freeport, TX, and Sheila (John) Bolen of Picayune, MS; three sisters, Sandra Johnson of Louisville, MS; Margarette Bailey of Clinton, MS; and Sherry Russell of Madison, MS; ten grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, a host of nieces and nephews. He was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all his family, as well as his beloved pets, Lucky and Little Bit.
A private memorial service will be held for M. Clay later this Spring.
