Services for Makayla Lynn Coggins, 23, of Maben and her infant daughter, Alayia Izanae Myles, were June 5, 2022, at Calvert Funeral Home Chapel in West Point with Dr. James Towery officiating. Burial followed in Greenwood Cemetery in West Point.
Makayla was born June 22, 1998, in West Point, the daughter of Terry Coggins Sr. and Tammy Austin Smith. She attended West Point High School and was of the Baptist faith. Makayla and Alayia died May 31, 2022, at OCH Regional Medical Center in Starkville.
Survivors include Makayla’s daughter, Jayla Myles; two sons, Kameron Coggins and Kash Myles; her mother, Tammy Smith; her father Terry Coggins Sr.; and two brothers, Terry Coggins Jr. and Ryan Coggins.
Pallbearers were Mike Coggins, Terry Coggins, Jr., Cameron Osburn, Patrick Osburn, Brandon Smith, James Smith, Robert Stegall Jr. and C. W. Walters.
