Services for Don B. Murphy Sr., 82, were April 24, 2022, at Salem Independent Methodist Church near Ackerman with burial in the church cemetery.
He was born April 18, 1940, in Choctaw County to the late James Wilson and Dennie L. Chaney Murphy. Mr. Murphy was retired from Hackney Inc. in Ackerman and was a member of Salem Independent Methodist Church. He died April 20, 2022, at his residence in Ackerman.
Survivors include his wife, Jeanne Murphy of Ackerman; one daughter, Regina Jones of Ackerman; one son, Brennon Murphy of Ackerman; two stepdaughters, Vicki Bruce-Bankston of Weir and Lori Busby of Ackerman; seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by Dane and Nason Neely, who raised him.
Memorials may be made to Salem Cemetery Fund.

Lanette Ann Shepard

Memorial services for Lanette Ann Shepard, 88, will be held at a later date in Rainbow, Texas.
She was born Oct. 30, 1933, in Rainbow to the late Jacob M. and Lila House West. Mrs. Shepard was a retired school custodian and was a member of Rainbow Baptist Church. She died April 21, 2022, at her residence in Ackerman.
Survivors include one daughter, Sherry Lee of Ackerman; two sons, Steve Shepard and West Shepard of Rainbow; eight grandchildren, 16 great great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild with another expected later this year.
