Jeff "Hillbilly" Collum Sr., died February 18, 2022, at North MS Medical Center in Tupelo, MS. He was born May 13, 1962, to Shirlene Rivers Collum and the late William Lester Collum Sr. Funeral Services were held Tuesday February 22, 2022, at Oliver Funeral Home Chapel with burial in Mt. Zion Cemetery in Webster County, MS. Rev. Willy Weddle officiated. Pallbearers were; Jay Collum, Brian Sisk, Hayden Sisk, Paul Ware, Scooter Ware, Danny Trull, Kelly Hardin, Danny Crutchfield, Guy Barnett, Ricky Odom, Jeremy Odom, Justin Stockton and Stacey McCully.
He was the owner of Collum Trucking Company and a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church. Mr. Jeff is survived by his wife; Beth Sykes Collum, Eupora, MS, his mother; Shirlene Collum, Eupora, MS, his daughter; Katie (Brian) Collum Sisk, Eupora, MS, his son; Jay (Rachel) Collum, Eupora, MS, his sister; Melinda (Sid) Allen, Eupora, MS, his brothers; William Lester "Butch" (Sharon) Collum, Jr., Stewart, MS and Terry Michael Collum, Eupora, MS, three grandchildren; Ridgeland, Hayden and Kinslee Sisk, many nieces, nephews and an enormous number of friends. He was preceded in death by his father; William Lester Collum Sr., his in laws; Mr. and Mrs. Luther Sykes and his grandparents.
Jeff graduated from Eupora High School. He was married to Beth Sykes Collum for forty years. Together, they have two children, Jay and Katie and three grandchildren. He was a successful entrepreneur in trucking. His career encompassed being a certified GM mechanic to owning his own trucking company where he would haul a variety of wood products, logs, lumber, and chips. Jeff didn’t limit his talents to just trucking. He built and raced drag cars, dirt track cars and was a motorcycle enthusiast. He was well known for being an avid truck driver and by his CB handle "Hillbilly". Whenever you would see Jeff in his big truck, you would also see his beloved dog, Dixie. His favorite hobby was dirt tracking and doing anything his grandson Hayden wanted him to do. Often when you say Jeff, you also say Hayden, rather it was in the big truck, at the racetrack or just during everyday activities. Jeff doted on all of his kids and grandkids alike, He was the epitome of a family man.
