Albert was born in Stewart, MS on December 13, 1934, to father, John "Buster" Jones, and mother Nannie Bell Jones. Albert grew up as an only child in Stewart, and judging by the stories he told, it was quite an eventful childhood filled with mischief and adventure. As a young man he attended Eupora High School where he was a trombone player in the band. After graduation Albert attended Holmes Community College, where he also played in the band.
In his early twenties, Albert was working at Buick in Flint, Michigan where he met and fell in love with his future wife, Florence Szabo. After a short courtship they were married and had one daughter, Linda Murphy Bayles. Albert would eventually take a job with AT&T and work for them for many years, traveling all throughout the country as an installation expert for the rapidly expanding telecommunications company.
After his retirement, Albert spent the remainder of his years in and around the Stewart area. He was always telling a story or trying to make a trade, loud and gregarious, witty but with an understated southern charm, someone whom everyone knew or knew of. He was a lover of all things hunting, sports, or cars, and he would never miss a chance to regale you with stories of his travels and people he had met along the way. A loving father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, he will be remembered fondly and missed greatly by many.
