A memorial service for Dale Avery, 66, of Big Creek will be held at a later date.
Born Sept. 10, 1955, in Eupora, he was the son of the late M.G. Avery Jr. and the late Eloise Stewart Avery. Mr. Avery was a 1973 graduate of Eupora High School and attended Trinity Bible Baptist Church. He had been employed with Harrison Logging for many years as a welder. He died April 23, 2022, at his home.
Survivors include his wife, JoAnn Rounsaville Avery; two daughters, Monica Norwood of Big Creek and Haley Brocato of Tupelo; one son, Cam Avery of Springhill; one sister, Lydia Cain of Eupora; and eight grandchildren.
Pryor Funeral Home of Calhoun City is in charge of arrangements.
Joel A. Holloway

Services for Joel A. Holloway, 85, of Mathiston were April 27, 2022, at Coleman Funeral Home in Ackerman with the Rev. Jim Rhodes officiating. Burial followed at Wood Springs Cemetery.
He was born April 20, 1937, in Calhoun County to the late W.T. and Clara Hood Holloway. Mr. Holloway was a retired electronic technician and a member of Clear Springs Baptist Church. He died April 23, 2022, at North Mississippi Medical Center-Eupora.
Survivors include his wife, Sarah Johns Holloway of Mathiston; two daughters, Melissa Williamson of Chelsea, Ala., and Rita Gardner of Davenport, Iowa; one brother, Wren Holloway of Mathiston; and four grandchildren
Pallbearers were Justin Blake, Jason Holloway, Mitch McKinney, Glen Morgan, Kevin Null and Lee Wallace.

Johnnie L. Shell
Funeral services for Johnnie L. Shell, 72, were held at 1 p.m., April 29 at Faith Tabernacle Church of Christ Holiness. Elder George A. Miller officiated.
Mr. Shell died April 18, 2022.
Survivors include 2 sisters, Ada Mae Thames and Rosie Mae Paten; 3 brothers, Eddie D. Shell, Willie James Shell, and Joe Willie Shell, Willie D. Shell; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Taylor Funeral Home of Louisville was in charge of the arrangements.
