Memorial services for Susan Yvonne Sullivan Campbell, 68, of West Point, formerly of Ackerman, will be held at a later date. She was born July 11, 1956, in South Carolina to Ralph Eugene and Artis McIntire Sullivan. Mrs. Campbell was a retired surgical technician.
She died Sept. 1, 2024, at West Point Community Living Center. Survivors include one daughter, Kimberly Hamilton of Louisville; two sons, Dale Tennyson and Joe Tennyson of Ackerman; one brother, Russell Eugene Sullivan of Bakers, Florida; 14 grandchildren and seven greatgrandchildren. Gola Mae Breland Gilliland Aug. 28, 2024
Services for Gola Mae Breland Gilliland, 91,were Aug. 31, 2024, at Coleman Funeral Home in Ackerman. She was born Jan. 3, 1933, to the late John and Naomi Breland, and spent her childhood in Sherwood. Mrs. Gilliland died Aug. 28, 2024, in Oxford.
Survivors include three grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews. Memorials may be made to St. Jude Childrenís Research Hospital.
Linda S. Sanders Aug. 31, 2024
Memorial services for Linda S. Sanders, 77, of Starkville, Ms. will be held at 11 a.m. Sept. 7, 2024, at Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church in Bradley with the Rev. Mike Sanders officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to service. She was born Jan. 28, 1947, in Texarkana, Texas, and was retired from retail sales. Mrs. Sanders died Aug. 31, 2024, at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo.
Survivors include one daughter, Suzanne Creely of Sturgis; one son, Charles ìChuckî Sanders of Memphis, Tennessee; one brother, James Milton Goodwin of Dallas; four grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Shurden Aug. 29, 2024
Services for Richard Boyd Shurden, 65, of Mathiston, were Sept. 2, 2024, at Coleman Funeral Home in Ackerman with the Rev. Rob Faulk officiating. Burial followed at Blythe Creek Baptist Cemetery near Mathiston.
He was born May 10, 1959, in Ackerman to the late Harold and Mary Foote Shurden. Mr. Shurden was retired from the Choctaw County road crew and was a member of Blythe Creek Baptist Church. He died Aug. 29, 2024, at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo.
Pallbearers were Grover Abbott, Chris McBride, Joshua McBride, Joel Taylor, Chad Fondren, Grady Erwin, Kyle Erwin and Chris Pinnix. Survivors include his brother, Ron Shurden of Louisville; his sister, Janie Peeples of Ackerman, two nieces; and six great-nieces and great-nephews.
