The Noxapater Farmers Market will return for the season on Saturday, May 31, at a new location near the four-way stop in Downtown Noxapater. The market opens at 8 a.m., offering fresh, locally grown produce and goods to residents and visitors.
The farmers’ market is a community favorite, providing access to seasonal fruits and vegetables picked at peak ripeness. Shoppers can expect a rotating variety of fresh items perfect for salads, soups, casseroles, and other homemade meals.
“Shopping at your local farmers market is a great way to add more nutritious foods to your diet and support the local economy,” said organizers. “It’s also a chance to connect directly with farmers and food preparers to learn more about how the food is grown and items are made.”
Visitors are encouraged to bring their own bags, arrive early for the best selection, and carry cash for easier transactions. And with free samples often available, shoppers are advised not to come on an empty stomach. The Noxapater Farmers’ Market has a slate of locals and regular vendors such as Hanna’s Hot Buns with a booth readily available.
The market is designed to be a family-friendly experience, with new produce, baked goods and handmade items available each week.
Mississippi-grown products currently in season include blackberries, blueberries, black-eyed peas, cantaloupe, carrots, cherries, cucumbers, eggplant, nectarines, okra, peppers, plums, tomatoes, and watermelon.
The Farmers’ Market in Noxapater is hosted by the Noxapater Community Chamber Alliance.
