NOTICE OF SPECIAL ELECTION TO FILL VACANCY OF
WARD 4 ALDERMEN
OF THE TOWN OF ACKERMAN, MISSISSIPPI
Notice is hereby given that the Town of Ackerman, Mississippi, will hold a special election on
Tuesday, January 13, 2026, at the regular voting place of the Town of Ackerman, Mississippi, to fill the
vacancy of Ward 4 Aldermen.
Qualifying paperwork is available at Town Hall.
Qualifying deadline for this Special Election is on or before Wednesday, December 23, 2025 at
5:00 pm. in the Town Hall in Ackerman being that Town Hall will be closed on December 24, 2025 in
observance of Christmas Eve.
The voting place for said election will be open at 7:00 o'clock a.m. and will close at 7:00 o'clock
p.m. on said date.
The sole voting place for the Town of Ackerman, Mississippi, is located at the Town Hall, the
address of which is 45 East Main Street, Ackerman, Mississippi.
If no candidate receives a majority of the votes cast in said election, a run-off election will be
held three (3) weeks later on Tuesday, February 3, 2026 between the two (2) candidates receiving the
highest number of votes. Said run-off election, if necessary, shall be held in the same voting place and
during the same hours stated above.
Only qualified electors of the Town of Ackerman, Mississippi, shall be permitted to vote in this
special election and run-off election, if required.
