A Mantee woman pleaded guilty last week in Lowndes County Circuit Court to one count of embezzlement.
Angela Hope Baker, 52, pleaded guilty to the charge on May 14. She was arrested in April 2017 after authorities said she stole funds from Rickman Brothers Trucking of Columbus, where she worked as a bookkeeper in 2015. Though authorities at the time did not release the amount Baker was accused of taking, her sentence requires her to pay $117,073 in restitution, according to The Commercial Dispatch.
Baker was sentenced to 10 year in the Mississippi Department of Corrections, but the bulk of the sentence suspended. She will spend two years in intensive supervised probation (house arrest), The Dispatch reported.
