At approximately 12:13 PM on May 28 the Mississippi Highway Patrol responded to a two vehicle crash at the intersection of MS Highway 25 and Sturgis Rd.
A 2004 Maroon Mercury Grand Marquis driven by 79 year-old Ida White of Louisville entered the crossover of Hwy. 25 at Sturgis Road attempting to travel east onto Sturgis Road.
As the Mercury entered the Northbound lanes of Hwy. 25, a white 2011 Chevrolet Malibu driven by 40 year old Jones McArthur of Monroe LA collided into the passenger side of the Mercury Marquis.
McArthur was transported to Oktibbeha County Hospital in stable condition.
White died while being transported to Winston Medical Center in Louisville.
This accident remains under investigation by MHP.
