A house fire in Tennessee killed three French Camp Students and a Collierville, Tennessee woman during the Christmas holidays.
The three teens were staying with the Tennessee family through the holiday break.
Sharron, 17, Joy, 15, and Aaron, 14 — teen siblings of the Naik family from India along with Kari Coudriet, of Collierville all died in the fire, a statement released by the Coudriet's church, Collierville Bible Church, said on their website.
Daniel Coudriet, Kari Coudriet's husband, and their youngest son Cole survived the fire and were hospitalized in stable condition.
"Danny and Cole were able to make it out of the home," the church statement said. "Kari was unable to make it out of the home and is now with our Heavenly Father. Danny was taken to the ER for minor burn treatment, but is expected to make a full recovery. Cole was taken to the ER for treatment and did not sustain any burns, and is expected to make a full recovery."
Keith Potts, who has known the Coudriet family for about four years, said the Naik teens were attending French Camp Academy in Mississippi. When the school closed for winter break, the students couldn't go home to India so the Coudriets invited them to stay in their home.
The Town of French Camp posted on social media: "Friends and family, please be in prayer for Pastor Naik and his wife. They sent their three precious children to America from India to keep them safe, and during the break a fire took their lives. They have been a blessing to the French Camp community and are loved by our whole town. I cannot fathom the grief of their parents as I know how much our town is grieving."
French Camp Academy released a statement on social media:
"As you can imagine, French Camp Academy is deeply saddened by the tragic event of last night’s fire in Collierville. We are fervently praying for the families involved and resting on the strong arms of our Heavenly Father to provide comfort and peace in a time like this. We understand that investigations are in process by Collierville authorities to explain the causes of the fire. We are asking everyone to join us in praying and supporting these precious families."
The statement from the church said their family is making travel arrangements to Tennessee.
Fire officials are still working to find the cause of the fire.
A neighbor who ran to the house to try to help the victims and a police officer also suffered minor injuries.
The fire started around 11 p.m. December 23 in the Coudriet home according to the church statement.
Financial donations for the Coudriet family and the Naik family can be made through the Collierville Bible Church website.
