Davis Taylor promoted to Director of SSI
The senior staff of The Taylor Group of Companies is pleased to announce the promotion of Davis Taylor to Director of Sudden Service, Inc. Robert Taylor, President and Chief Operating Officer of The Taylor Group, stated, “It gives me great pleasure to welcome my son, Davis, into this new position and wish him the best in his new role.” Davis Taylor began working with SSI in 2011 as a regional sales manager. He was promoted to Assistant General Manager of SSI in 2016. Davis is the first of the 4th generation of the Taylor families that has come into the privately-owned family business.
Taylor Announces Nowell to Director of Sales
Management of The Taylor Group of Companies (TG) announced the promotion of Hal Nowell to the position of Director of Sales. In 2016 Nowell was promoted to General Sales Manager. Prior to that, Nowell served as a Regional Sales Manager for TMW. Nowell has over twenty years of experience in the large forklift and equipment industry.
In his new position, Nowell will manage the entire Taylor sales force in the continuance of growth of TMW products while providing support and leadership. Lex Taylor, Chairman of the Board & President of the Taylor Group, stated, “Hal is well suited for this new area of responsibility and leadership. He has been tested by fire in having budget responsibility to meet objectives in both sales quotas and expense management. He has that unique personality that combines the positive self-motivating outlook required of successful professional capital equipment sales people in real world challenges while at the same time showing leadership to his staff with expectations to accomplish and exceed revenue budgets. Hal shows that unique attribute for success by focusing on customer relationships above all else which has been the hallmark of the Taylor Big Red Team’s success.”
Barry Black Named General Sales Manager
The Taylor Sales team has a new leader. Hal Nowell, Director of Sales, recently made public the following promotion, ““I am pleased to announce that Barry Black will be General Sales Manager for Taylor Machine Works, Inc. Barry’s immense experience in the forklift industry makes him invaluable in this new position. His devotion and loyalty to customers, fair business practices, and attention to detail and organization are all attributes that will continue to grow our business. I look forward to working with him.”
Black began in 1983 in the engineering department as a draftsman. In 1988 he moved to the Sudden Service division as service engineer, in 1993, Black was promoted to Regional Sales Manager for Taylor Machine Works, Inc. and has worked with the domestic and international Taylor dealer network.
