Students began week two reading about and digging for dinosaurs.
The school was awarded a grant from 4-County for virtual reality viewers and they have been a hit with the students. This week students have been on several field trips: the first was to a Dinosaur Museum in Melbourne, Australia; second, a trip to a STE (Save the Elephant) research campsite in Africa; third, a trip to the migration grounds of Africa (Tanzania to Kenya); and lastly the students wanted to view China (after learning about this country last week). We are so thankful for the grant - the students have really enjoyed taking field trips with the new viewers.
As a matter of fact, they ask me at the end of each day about what they will watch the next day. These trips are expanding their understanding of a bigger world and a larger vocabulary - thank you 4-County.
Students continue to check off objectives in the CODE class - each one moving at their own individual pace. They have read more Magic Treehouse chapter books adding words to their growing word wall!
It is wonderful to see the students continue reading through the summer - they are making all of their school teachers proud this summer! Both students and teachers hard work this past year is continuing through the summer! Let’s give a shout out to WEIR staff, teachers and assistants.
