Zeta Phi Beta Sorority (Rho Nu Zeta Chapter) joined Colegate Bright Smiles Bright Future Mobile Dental Program in a movement to spread oral health care education to the children in our community. Important information on brushing, flossing, eating healthy, and visiting the dentist was shared with students at Kosciusko Lower Elementary School PreK Village, Mrs. Ilona Saffold 2nd grade class at Long Creek Elementary School and the Zeta youth auxiliaries. They learned the healthy habits that build confidence and bright smiles for years to come. Each student also received a brushing chart, toothbrush and toothpaste.
The students were very appreciative of receiving the Bright smiles packets. Upon receiving them they could not wait to open them. They talked among themselves about how they could not wait to get home to show their parents and use them. They all had bright smiles on their faces.
The Bright Smiles Bright Future Program wants everyone to know that tooth decay is the single most common chronic disease afflicting children, can be prevented with oral health education, and visiting the dentist can be a positive experience.
The chapter expresses their appreciation to Mrs. Nowell and Mr. Harmon for allowing us the distribute the information to the students in our community.
